Research details
Thomas Bauwens is a PhD-researcher at the Centre for Social Economy-HEC Management School of the University of Liège. He holds a MSc in economics from the Economic School of Louvain. His PhD thesis is devoted to the economics of co-provision, i.e. the involvement of citizens, local communities or other stakeholders in the production and the governance of collective goods, with a focus on the empirical case of renewable energy cooperatives and their contribution to the implementation of small-scale electricity generation technologies. More generally, his research interests include the role of organizational diversity within economic complex systems as well as the application of evolutionary and institutional economic theories to social enterprises.
